Internet over satellite gives the users the ability to access the internet by way of a satellite that orbits the earth. The satellite is placed in a fixed position at a static point above the surface of the earth. Internet over satellite speed is a little slower because there is such a large distance that signals must travel. The signals must travel from the earth up to the satellite, and back again. For this reason, satellite internet has a high time delay problem. Honest satellite internet providers will tell you that a signal delay of about 500- 900 milliseconds makes this service unsuitable for real-time applications such as internet games.
