Do customers like speech recognition software?

We are trying to figure out whether we should change our phone system so that it uses speech recognition software, or whether we should keep the system we currently have where people push buttons on the phone to select their options. Do people like it when this type of software is used, or are there a lot of issues with the system not properly recognizing what people are trying to say? I am wondering which type of system people prefer. We don’t want to invest in the new software unless it will be better in the eyes of the customer than what we are currently using.
