Don’t Follow Your Taste Buds

When training to become a finely tuned athletic machine, or even to gain a little muscle mass, it doesn’t pay to ‘follow your taste-buds’. Often the foods that you like the best can be detrimental to the training process, as they will likely contain high levels of fat and carbohydrates. It is important to ‘detach your tongue’ and feed your body with highly nutritious foods, such as salads and fresh fruit and vegetables. These may not taste as good as a greasy burger, they will help to feed your muscle cells with highly efficient fuel, allowing them to function cleanly and effectively. Not only will a good diet keep your muscles working fluidly, it will also allow you to burn fat more easily, giving you a more toned, defined body.
