Where is the best place to apply for home loans? I want to start looking at houses, so I want to get pre-approved for financing first. I don’t know if I should apply for a mortgage at my local bank, at a mortgage company, or at a mortgage broker. Where will I get the best rates? I don’t want to pay more in interest than I have to. I have good credit, so I should be able to get the best rates possible, no matter where I apply, but I know rates can vary widely from place to place.
