Does Anyone Use Magazines for Research Anymore?

I remember doing research projects back in high school and college on various earth shattering topics like should we legalize abortion or global warming. I would always go to the periodicals recommended and wonder if i would find articles here that would support my argument. Sometimes I would get lucky and just the right article would support my position.  Alas, more times than not I would have to pick and choose bits and pieces from articles and piece together support for my arguments.  Things are so much easier these days with search engines and even term papers online.  What a great world we’re living in!
