Which type should I buy?

I think we need a new pool filter pump, but I am not sure which kind to buy. It seems there are a bunch of different pool filter pumps of different strengths, and I really don’t know enough about them to decide which one would be best. Is there anywhere I could go online to find out more about the different types of filter pumps and which types of pools they work well with? I don’t want to buy a stronger filter pump than I need since I don’t want to end up wasting a lot of electricity using more power than necessary.
