Protecting Your Children’s Teeth While They’re Still Young
August 29, 2009 on 5:03 am | By admin | In Health | No CommentsTo protect your children’s teeth, remember that up to 14months, a baby has not yet developed oral antibodies against tooth decay. Adults can pass decay-causing bacteria to a child’s mouth through kissing, sharing of food and cutlery, cooling of baby’s food in mother’s mouth before feeding baby and sucking of pacifier to “clean” it before putting it in baby’s mouth. Avoid doing these things.
Well, be reminded that when these kids grow older they would also seek white teeth tips that would give them that brighter white smile. Young children should be also taught spit the fluoridated toothpaste instead of swallowing it, as this causes mottling of the enamel of the permanent teeth. In fact, they should only use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste each time they brush their teeth.
