Pandorra’s Skin - And The Best Anti Aging Skin Care
December 23, 2007 on 5:13 am | By admin | In HealthAs consumers, we sometimes seem more concerned with the environment, and climate change, than the ingredients of the anti aging skin care treatments we use. Most of the commercial variety actually use nothing but chemicals - with the possible exception of a few specialty ingredients that are heavily used in advertising.
Why do we keep using them, even though we’re putting a chemical bath on our skin? Well, they do work - as much as anything you place on your skin does. But if we look at the fact that the external layer of our skin is really just dead skin cells, and the anti-aging skin care products are careful to point out - in fine print - that they work to reduce the appearance of aging, then we really have to wonder. Are we being taken in by advertising, and our own strong desire - almost desperation - for something, anything, that works, no matter how temporary?
There’s no doubt culture plays a big role, with its’ emphasis on beauty. But even without that encouragement, most of us would still prefer to keep looking as we did when we were 20.
So, what is the best anti aging skin care? Well, my choice is natural products, preferably organic. And, I don’t mean those products that just use the word ‘natural’ in the brand name, but actually are the same chemicals as the ones which use less deceptive advertising.
But we can also do a lot for ourselves by eating more fruit and vegetables, and taking essential fatty acids - the omega 3 variety - as supplements. These will do more for your skin long term than any cream, even the best natural ones.
