Acai Fruit is a Surfers Dream

The Acai fruit grows on a Brazilian palm tree known as to the local people of the Amazon as the Tree of Life.  It was given this name because of the life-giving properties of the fruit.  The Acai berries grow in grape-like clusters that hang from the top of the tree.Acai fruit is very fragile and must be freeze-dried within twenty four hours after harvest.  After this time, the delicate berries will no longer maintain their powerful medicinal benefits.  How did the acai fruit make its way to the modern world?  Two California surfers discovered the rejuvenating powers of the Acai fruit juice while surfing in Brazil.  They found it energized them and allowed them to surf longer.
