Muscle Building Made Simple

October 11, 2009 on 3:58 am | By admin | In Sports

If you follow a few easy steps, you can have muscle building (German: Muskel Aufbau), and you can have it made easy. First, you need some free-weights and a barbell and a bench. Every other day, from this point in your life forward, you need to allocate a lousy 20 minutes for a brief work-out session. You simply bench press as much weight as you can handle for 2 sets of 10 reps. You need to hit your maximum liftable weight and you need to increase as often as manageable. You need to also perform arm curls, and reverse arm curls, also at maximum weight to complete your 20 minute work-out session. Repeat this routine every other day for the rest of your life.

Golf is Our Family’s Favorite Sport

October 1, 2009 on 11:55 pm | By admin | In Sports

The bulk of my Christmas list is related to golfing items.  Last year I asked for a new set of clubs and a bag.  Prior to that, I needed a good pair of shoes as I had been using my friend’s old, worn out pair.  Though grateful for my friend’s kindness, it was truly time to make my own investment.  This year, I am requesting the Yardage Pro.  I have three wonderful kids who love to pool their money together and buy gifts at Christmas.  They work very hard for their money, yet they joyfully spend it to make others happy.  The best part about my family is that all of us consider golf our favorite sport.

I wouldn’t pack with out it.

Every year my friends and I would go on a nature trip.  We go camping and mountain climbing.  A sort of urban escape and also just to feel the serenity that nature could offer.  Last year, I bought a Marmot Backpack that I could use for the trip and this year since the group is already planning things out I also then started to prepare the things that I may need.  I checked out my Marmot backpack that I bought last year and to my suprise it still look as if it’s new and had never been used.  It means I’m saving money because I wouldn’t have to buy a new one!  Very durable!

Basileus blade - machaira!

September 26, 2009 on 11:50 pm | By admin | In Sports

In ancient times, the man who claimed to take power over a region should prove his abilities in battle with the bearer of this divine power. Thus, to become a warrior-king the man had to defeat an elk; to become a voivode the man had to prostrate a bear; to become a vizier or a councilor the man should catch a leopard. To get the title of Basileus, the claimer should have killed a lion with a certain sacerdotal weapon.

Roman historians mentioned that in antiquity the word “basileus” had the meaning ‘king’. But in Hellenic period Basileus was first of all a hero: the one who by his example showed the right path - path of lion! The man who defeated the lion received the power, force and courage of the king of beasts.

quality Easton SCN2 online aluminum baseball bats

September 9, 2009 on 4:56 pm | By admin | In Sports

Easton is a smart company “covering all its bases” in the manufacture of quality Easton SCN2 online aluminum baseball bats. It’s big priority is selling bats with the two-piece design and flex handles that they’ve marketed so successfully since the innovative Connection line of bats came out six years ago. But that doesn’t mean they’re neglecting their other products. Their line covers the full range of bats, including quality one-piece bats with stiff handles such as the Rawlings and the Louisville. They are determined not to be overtaken by their market competitors for sales of this more traditional bat design.

Kettlebell Training for Maximum Lift Off

September 4, 2009 on 3:10 pm | By admin | In Sports

I must admit when I first learned about Kettlebells years back I never really gave it much thought because I thought you could do kettlebell exercises with a dumbbell.

As I quickly learned, you can not do exercises that are specific to kettlebells with a dumbbell. It’s not the same. Try a kettlebell swing with a dumbbell and they are very different. Now this is not to say that dumbbells are bad. This is just to say that each piece of equipment has a specific use and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

It is very hard to find an exercise that mimics the motion of vertical jumping better than the kettle bell swing. Further more is that you can perform the exercise explosively. Now this is not to say that power cleans or snatches are not great exercises that teach explosive hip extension but they are more technical and harder to teach.

This is simply not the case with the kettlebell swing which makes it excellent for working with large groups. Our weight room workouts have over 40 student athletes working out at once and introducing kettlebell has been a blessing because I find it much easier to teach the movements than power cleans. And even easier than teaching the hang clean. Does this mean I’m lazy? No, I just happened to find a better tool for teaching athletes explosive hip extension. Will I abandon the power and hang clean? No. Now I have even more exercises in my tool box which makes it easier not to be married to a set a certain exercise. So what’s the lesson here? If you can add kettlebells into your training programs you have an excellent vertical jump training tool that is hard to beat.

A Jump Manual Review

August 24, 2009 on 1:10 pm | By admin | In Sports

This year my wife and I lost our jobs at the factory. It was very tough at first, but now we both have new jobs, and we’re quite happy. Both my wife and I work online, which means we can work from the privacy of our own home, or a hotel anywhere in the world. We both read and write different types of reviews. This month my wife is writing reviews on diet products, and I’m writing Jump Manual Reviews. Our jobs are so great, because there is so much freedom. We can make our own hours, and we now have time to do the things we really love.

Surfing to Snowboarding

August 13, 2009 on 2:10 pm | By admin | In Sports

I had moved from a very sunny place to the mountains. My hobbies had consisted of surfing and boating which was impossible to do where I had moved. I noticed a lot of the kids from school were into snowboarding. I had never done it before but I was told it was a lot like surfing. I decided to buy a snowboard jacket and give it a shot.  A couple of the kids from school had invited me with them to try it out one weekend. I was amazed at how great I was at it! It was very similar to surfing and I looked like a pro!

Youth Boxing League

August 11, 2009 on 12:46 pm | By admin | In Sports

Though it is against my better judgement, my junior high age son has expressed an interest in boxing.  It just so happens that there is a gym near my home that has a youth boxing league starting starting up this fall.  My husband is on my son’s side, so I guess I lose.  I have gone out on line to search for boxing supplies to see what is necessary for him to wear.  Obviously, he will wear boxing gloves, and probably need sparring gloves.  He will definitely need a head piece and a mouth piece.  I have not heard for sure if a special shoe is needed or not, but I know I will hear soon.
