Birds fly higher than you can see

October 8, 2008 on 4:18 am | By admin | In Reference

You know that song, right? Somewhere over the rainbow… Birds fly high…

I think of it often and never dream of asking WHY can’t I.  I know I am not aerodynamically designed for flight.  And birds are.

And I can assure you that birds DO fly high.  No I cant give you statistics without looking them up. I offer simple trusted empirical observations.  I have watched some birds fly so high that even with my birding binoculars they go out of sight. Actually Monarch Butterflies do that too. But you probably don’t watch Monarchs with your binoculars, do you?

What’s a Bill for anyhow?

September 22, 2008 on 6:16 am | By admin | In Reference

How do Birds eat? Now there is a simple question that most kids in pre-school are likely to answer very simply. With their Mouths.

Then comes the inquisitive one in the bunch who says how come they have such funny mouths? What follows next is observing and drawing the bills and-or beaks of as many birds as they can see or have photos of: The flat duck shaped bills, the huge curved bills of flamingos, the hooked bills of hawks and eagles and shrikes, the cone shaped bills of sparrows and cardinals and grosbeaks and the long skinny hummingbird bills.

Frequent Flyer Rewards Is A Good Idea

September 18, 2008 on 4:20 pm | By admin | In Reference

We always look forward to our rewards.  That is the reason why we work hard.  That is the reason why we do stuff. Actually rewards are the better motivators than punishment.  There have been countless studies on the effects of rewards and punishment from mice to children to adults.

That is why airlines thought of Frequent Flyer Rewards.  Those who were already frequent flyers were motivated to fly even more. And those who did not fly, have begun flying.  You cannot lose by availing the rewards that you are entitled with and is your right given to you by your airline partner.

Reverse Lookup Zone

September 7, 2008 on 7:22 am | By admin | In Reference

In mose Domain Name System lookups, clients can generally perform a reverse lookup based on the DNS name of another computer as it is stored in the resource records. All you need is the IP address as the resource date for the inquiry. When a company or person is looking up multiple IP addresses, the date can be combined to form a reverse lookup zone that will generally create a domain tree that creates the lookup zone. All IP networks are based on basic internet protocol addressing, that automatically assumes that you are using the domain when you create a new reverse lookup zone, so keep this in mind.

Whats the difference?

August 24, 2008 on 7:10 pm | By admin | In Reference

The bible has been translated into several different languages, contexts, and even, as in the king James versions, into something much easier to understand without translation tools. Understanding Bible Translation Differences will help you to understand what the different reasons for the many different types of bibles are. In some cases the bible was translated in a format that extracts the main meanings of the bible, while others maintain and preserve the original word for word translations. Making bible study a passion is going to require you to understand all of this. Not so much for requirements as it would be to give you the most in-depth way to learn the bible. It is a lot like taking a movie from several different angles- same movie different meanings of each angle.

Advice

August 13, 2008 on 4:20 pm | By admin | In Reference

I need some help finding some advice. I am looking for current career advice for school leavers. I am doing a presentation at school about life after leaving school and need to learn about what other options people have besides regular schooling methods. I understand that school is not for everyone and this is exactly why I chose this topic. People are not all the same, so you can not just give them all cookie cutter degrees! Most of the time they do not even end up using them anyways. Any advice or recommendations you could all give me would be great.

Missing brother…

August 9, 2008 on 7:11 am | By admin | In Reference

My Mom just died last month and our family is starting the probate process and we are all very upset.  My brother who is a "free spirit" left home over 6 months ago and no one has heard from him since. We need to find him to start the probate process under the will because he was named as the probate executor. Probate is a very complex task. It involves probate laws and probate procedures that takes anywhere fro 9 months to settlement up to 2 years. Does anyone know how to handle probate under these circumstances?  It was crazy that Mom named him the executor.  I guess she thought he was the only one not interested in her probate estate.

August 2, 2008 on 4:16 am | By admin | In Reference

There are not a lot of program options available when it comes to learning Korean. At the same time, no one wants to spend a lot of money on a program that does not work. I know that Rosetta Stone offers language learning software programs in a large number of languages, including Korean, but we need good Rosetta Stone Korean reviews. What do they offer that other companies don’t? How is their customer service? Is there a lesser known company that offers a similar program for less money? How fast can a customer expect to learn the language with this program? These are all questions a person looking to learn Korean would have.
