Before and After

One of my favorite aspects of design shows is the before and after pictures. I absolutely love seeing kitchen remodeling pictures. It’s great to see how much a kitchen area can change. Sometimes the changes are small and cheap or other times the changes are dramatic and expensive. However, it always seems that with both options, before and after kitchen remodeling pictures are fun to see. Even those that doesn’t want to spend a lot of time or money can completely change the look of their kitchen with a few simple changes and modifications. That’s one of the great things about remodeling.

Special Shapes

There is an invention that helps keep swimming pools warm called solar sun rings. These rings float on top of the water and collect the heat from the sun and then transfers the heat to the water. They are earth-friendly because they are passive solar. They look kind of cool, too. They kind of catch the light and cause a multi-colored reflection. They are all standard, now, except for the sizes, but imagine the potential. They could be cut into creative shapes like frog or flowers and be made in different colors. Heck, you could even print advertising sponsorship on them.

Aluminum Deck – Knees or Back?

Most of us have a deck or porch or patio depends on what part of the world you are from.

But the bottom line as near as I can tell is that our decks are designed for us to enjoy. We are to have bbqs with friends and family… sit on our lawn chair or lay out on the chase lounge.

Decks were not designed for us to be down on our hands and knees scrubbing, sanding, painting and staining.

So when I saw this aluminum deck with a wood grain finish and heard it was maintenance free I almost died and went to heaven.

The Bus

After drinking my cup of coffee, beans freshly roasted on my alpenrost coffee Roaster. I decided to go home.  So I am coming home from work on Tuesday and am on the bus when this couple (or at least they knew each other some kind of way) and proceeds to stand abreast of each other right at the front of the bus. Now any one who has ever taken the bus in NYC or any city for that matter will immediately realise why this would be a problem. It made no sense to me because the bus was not even full. There were seats right there in the front. They could have sat down, but no they had to stand right in the front and then want to side eye people and look put upon when other passengers trying to get on the bus asked them to move.

Winter Time…

I do not specifically look forward to the winter season. I do  not love the snow or the inconvenience of the cold.  I do not want the insides of my nose go hard. The only come-on about winter time is making fires in my sitting room and reading.  For years now my wife and I have built fires in the winter time and use that to relax and catch up on our week.  However, we have not experienced anything like this until we got one of those heatilator fireplace doors.  We get so much heat now that we hardly, if all, have to put on the gas furnace.  It not only saves us money, but is so comforting.
