Would NLP Training help me personally?

I was recently reading about NLP, and it sounded like an interesting idea. However, I am not sure exactly how it works and how it would be able to help me if I were to take some sort of NLP Training course. Can anyone tell me where I can learn more about the possible benefits of this kind of course, and what types of issues it can help me to resolve? I would love to be able to make myself a better person in whatever way is possible, and I am always interested in trying new things, so if it isn’t too expensive I would be interested in learning more about NLP.
