The fall views in western Iowa

Western Iowa tourism is at it’s peak when the color of the changing leaves along the Missouri is at it’s peak. You can drive for miles and miles along the river and at each bend you are greeted with another burst of fall colors. If the leaves change late enough in the season you can also do some bird watching along the way. Several species of birds use the Missouri to guide them from their northern summer homes to their southern winter homes. Most are water birds, so don’t expect to see them in the trees, you need to lower your gaze to water level to get a view of those sights.
